EPPD Statement: Eden Prairie Center Lockdown
At 12:08 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, Eden Prairie Police received a report of a person with a weapon inside Eden Prairie Center mall. The mall was put on lockdown while officers secured the building.
During the lockdown, a mall employee reported to officers that an adult male carrying a gun case entered the Scheels store with the intent of having his firearm serviced. When told there are no gun services at this Scheels location, the man left the mall.
At approximately 1 p.m., the lockdown was lifted and Eden Prairie Center was reopened.
Eden Prairie Police would like to thank the mall’s management, employees and shoppers for their cooperation in quickly sheltering in place and providing the information needed to determine there was no threat.
