Katherine Seger is a classically trained artist, specializing in landscape, still-life and portraiture. She completed her training at the Atelier of Minneapolis, the school of Classical Realism founded by Richard Lack. Her works have been sold to collectors both locally and nationally. Seger has taught at the Eden Prairie Art Center since it opened in 2009, teaching beginning to advanced adult classes in drawing, oil and acrylic painting, and plein air (outside) workshops. She also offers private adult and child instruction.

Seger teaches realism and impressionism, and with small class sizes is able to individualize the instruction to differing needs of each student. Often she will begin the class with a demo to enhance the students’ understanding of concepts, and then provide individual support to each student as needed. Recently, she fulfilled a long-held dream of owning a hobby farm, where she paints full-time, teaches part-time and raises chickens in southern Minnesota.
