Similar to tennis and badminton, pickleball is played with a few varied rules on a shortened court with a net that is slightly lower than a tennis net, using a paddle and a small wiffle ball.

PICKLEBALL CLINICS
Ages 15 and older
Community Center Gym
Cost: Community Center Members $3, Non-members $6

These clinics are a great way for new players to learn the sport of pickleball and work on skills. Players spend one hour in the classroom and then one hour in the gym for on-the-court training. Registered players are welcome to stay and play recreational open pickleball (Level 2.0-3.5) from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m. Instruction is provided; tennis shoes are required; paddles are available to check out. All players must register in advance online or at the Community Center.

PICKLEBALL DRILLS

These first-come, first-served drills are a great way for players to work on their skills. Stay and play open pickleball from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Players are divided by skill level. Tennis shoes and wristbands are required; instruction is provided. Note: The drill sessions are not for players who are brand new to the sport. Players must have played pickleball for a minimum of three months or have attended and passed the written exam at an Eden Prairie Community Center New Player Clinic.

Wednesday Nights (two-player player team, league ability upper 3.5-4.0 level) FULL
Feb. 8–April 26

Community Center
Cost: Community Center Members $30 plus tax per team, Non-members $60 plus tax per team (fee includes weekly court time)
Size: Max. 12-13 teams
Sign up as a two-person team: men, women or mixed teams. There are 12 weeks of play, including the regular season and playoffs. Matches are three games to 15 points. This league is for players who have participated in competitive 3.5+ play in tournaments or those who may have competed successfully in the upper divisions of Eden Prairie's pickleball leagues. Teams should only register if they are able to attend a majority of league matches. League registrations are reviewed to ensure that participants are in the appropriate divisions.  

How Do I Register?
Only one player per team needs to register. Your team name is the first name of both players (ex. Paul/Patty). To be considered a member team, both players must be Community Center members.

Thursday Nights (two-player team, league ability upper 3.0-3.5 level) – FULL
