Similar to tennis and badminton, pickleball is played with a few varied rules on a shortened court with a net that is slightly lower than a tennis net, using a paddle and a small wiffle ball.

Indoor Open Pickleball
Pickleball is played in the Community Center gym, view the current gymnasium schedule to find out when indoor open pickleball is available.


Pickleball Drills

Dates: Tuesdays, Thursdays, June 5–Aug. 30 from 8:30–9:30 a.m. (no drills July 3, 5; Aug. 9)
Location: Riley Lake Park Pickleball Courts, 9180 Riley Lake Road
Cost: A pickleball drills punch card is $25 plus tax for nine punches. Punch cards are available at the Community Center beginning May 1. Drop-in players may participate if there is space available by paying $5 in cash or check at the court.

Pickleball drills are a great way for players to work on improving their skills; details available in the Summer Drills Schedule [PDF].

Pickleball Clinics
Dates: May 19; June 9, 16, 23, 30
Location: Community Center
Cost: $10 per clinic

Summer Adult Indoor Pickleball League Information
Registration begins Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m. until full
There are 11 weeks of play, including playoffs (no regular season rain-out make-ups). Game balls are provided. Matches are three games to 15 points. Players are welcome to stay and play afterward. Players should only register if they are able to attend the majority of the matches. League applications are reviewed to ensure that participants are in the appropriate division. Review pickleball ratings descriptions to see which league is the best fit for you.

Tuesdays (individual ladder league 3.0–3.5 level)
Dates: May 29– late August (no matches July 3)
Time: 6:15 p.m. (warm-ups at 6 p.m.)
Location
: Franlo Park
Cost: $30/player; Size: Max. 20 players
Sign up as an individual player. This league is primarily for players who have participated at the 3.0–3.5 level. It is not for individuals who have never played pickleball.

Wednesdays (individual “Joker’s Wild” ladder league 4.0+ level )
Dates: May 30–late August (no matches July 4 or Aug. 8)
Time: 6:15 p.m. (warm-ups at 6 p.m.)
Location
: Riley Lake Park
Cost: $30/player; Size: Max. 16 players
Sign up as an individual player. This league is for players at level 4.0 and above who have successfully competed in the upper divisions of City of Eden Prairie pickleball leagues and/or participated in level 3.5–4.0 tournaments. 

Thursdays (men’s, women’s and mixed couple teams upper 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 level)
Dates: May 31–late August (no matches Aug. 9)
Time: 6:15 p.m. (warm-ups at 6 p.m.)
Location
: Franlo Park or Riley Lake Park
Cost: $45/team; Size: Max. 8–14 teams
Sign up as a two-person team. There are two or three divisions, to ensure equitable play.
