The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for all City of Eden Prairie park construction projects. Current projects are listed below.

CEDAR HILLS PARK – PHASE I
Cedar Hills Park is the final neighborhood park in the City's Master Park Plan. It will serve the south central portion of Eden Prairie and its completion will fulfill the City's goal for parks to be located within a half mile of all residents. The anticipated completion date is fall 2017.

EDENBROOK CONSERVATION AREA BOARDWALK PROJECT
As a part of the master plan created for Edenbrook Conservation Area in 2005, a trail access will be built in the southern portion of the conservation area.

OUTDOOR CENTER PLAY EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION
The Outdoor Center Master Plan was created in 2016 and the plan shows a nature play equipment area located near Animal Junction.

RICE MARSH LAKE PLAY EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT
This year the Rice Marsh Lake Park’s 19-year-old play equipment is scheduled for replacement.

RILEY LAKE PARK BOAT LAUNCH RENOVATION
Reconfiguration and/or reconstruction of the Riley Lake Park boat ramp parking area is scheduled to occur in 2017. A new park building will serve as a restroom and changing area for people visiting the beach.

ROUND LAKE PARK – PHASE II
For the second phase of this project, four ballfields are being converted to three new extended ballfields that meet current standards for size, with a common area between the fields for people to gather. The anticipated completion date is spring 2017 with ballfields ready for play in Spring 2018.

TENNIS COURT RENOVATIONS
There are 55 tennis and basketball courts within City parks that are in various stages of age and wear. Annual inspection determines the priority of hard court replacement in order to provide high quality and safe playing surfaces. Work will be done on courts at Round Lake Park, Holasek Hills Park and Riley Lake Park this summer.
