Similar to tennis and badminton, pickleball is played with a few varied rules on a shortened court with a net that is slightly lower than a tennis net, using a paddle and a small wiffle ball.

INDOOR PICKLEBALL DRILLS

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 8:30–9:30 a.m.
Location: Community Center
Cost: Community Center Members $3, Non-members $6
Maximum: 16 participants, ages 15 and older

November-December Drill Schedule [PDF]

These drills are a great way for players to work on improving their skills. Sessions are not for players who are new to the sport. Players must be able to demonstrate the following skills prior to participating in the sessions:

  • Soft game in the kitchen with both forehand and backhand (minimum eight reps)
  • Consistent accurate serve and deep return
  • Understanding and use of the "third-shot drop"

For players who are unsure whether or not they qualify, the drill instructor is available at 9:30 a.m., following each session, to test new players who are interested in participating.

All players must register in advance online or at the Community Center. Sign up at edenprairie.org/Register using activity code 451106.

Registered players are welcome to stay and play from 9:30–11:30 a.m. Tennis shoes are required.

INDOOR PICKLEBALL CLINICS
Dates: Saturdays
Location: Community Center
Cost: $10/player (preregistration required)
Minimum: 4 participants, ages 15 and older

Beginner Pickleball Clinic
4:30–6:05 p.m.
For those who have attended Introduction to Pickleball or newer players who know the rules and how to score, but are fairly new to the game. Players receive 1 hour of on-court training.

Next-Level Clinics
6:10–7:10 p.m.
A great way for players to take their games to the "next level." Players receive 1 hour of on-court training.

WINTER ADULT INDOOR PICKLEBALL LEAGUE INFORMATION

Registration begins Friday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. until full

Wednesdays (2-player Doubles League 4.0+ levels)
Dates:
Feb. 7–May 2
Starting times: 6:30 p.m.; 8:15 p.m.
Location: Community Center
Cost: $40 plus tax if both players are Community Center members; $60 plus tax if one player or neither player is a Community Center member.

Sign up as a two-person men’s, women’s or mixed-doubles team. There are 12 weeks of play, including the regular season and playoffs. Matches are three games to 15 points. Each team has one bye week.

This league is for players who have played in 4.0+ tournaments, or have competed successfully in the Eden Prairie's Wednesday 4.0 leagues. All players should have “strong kitchen and at-the-net volley skills.” Teams should only register if they are available at least nine weeks of the 12-week season. Registration fee includes weekly court time for non-member players. There will be a sub list, however, teams are required to secure their own subs. All subs must be pre-approved by the league director to ensure equitable play. Please note, league applications are reviewed to ensure that participants are ability-level eligible.

How to Register
Only one player registers and pays for their team. The team name is the first names of both players (i.e. Ian/Adriana)

Thursdays (individual ladder league upper 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 levels)

This league is primarily for players who have participated in 3.0–3.5 play-in tournaments, or have competed successfully in Eden Prairie's pickleball leagues. Please note, this is not for players who are new to the sport. League applications are reviewed to ensure that participants are ability-level eligible.
