Eden Prairie Reads is celebrating its 10th anniversary by selecting 10 short stories from The Scribner Anthology of Contemporary Short Fiction (Revised and Updated 2nd Edition).
By choosing 10 short stories, the Eden Prairie Reads planning committee offers the community the opportunity to explore a different literary genre from its past selections.
The short stories selected from the anthology are:
Silver Water by Amy Bloom
The Caretaker by Anthony Doerr
Tiny, Smiling Daddy by Mary Gaitskill
Marie by Edward P. Jones
Wickedness by Ron Hansen
Orientation by Daniel Orozc
A Temporary Matter by Jhumpa Lahiri
The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
Two Kinds by Amy Tan
The Rest of Her Life by Steve Yarbrough
The Eden Prairie Reads committee is planning community events for 2013 related to the art form of the short story and the 10 story selections. A limited number of community copies of The Scribner Anthology of Contemporary Short Fiction will be available at the Eden Prairie Library for distribution in early 2013.
