City of Eden PrairieFlying Cloud Drive Reconstruction
The Flying Cloud Drive reconstruction project is scheduled to begin Monday, March 5. Stage 1 construction is expected to last eight months and includes a full closure of Flying Cloud Drive from Charlson Road to Spring Road. The detour for this closure includes Spring Road and Pioneer Trail. To stay informed about this multi-year project, sign up to receive project updates from Hennepin County.

2018 Property Value Notices
The 2018 property assessment is complete. It will be the basis for taxes payable in 2019. We will be mailing individual valuation notices to the 21,869 taxpayers on Friday, March 9. The notices inform the taxpayers of the: Property Classification, Estimated Market Value, Value of New Improvements, Value Deferrals (Green Acres and Open Space), and Value Exclusions (Platted Vacant Land, Disabled Veterans and Homestead Market Value Exclusion). It also shows the Taxable Market Value net of exclusions. It informs the taxpayer of their options to appeal the value and classification including the dates and times of the Local and County Board of Appeal and Equalization Meetings. The 2018 values and classifications can be appealed informally to the Assessing Division upon receipt of the value notices and formally to the 2018 Board of Appeal and Equalization on April 19. Property owners will be asked to complete an application form prior to attending the April Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting. 2018 Property Values
The overall 2018 estimated market value of the City of Eden Prairie is $10.55-billion. This includes new construction valued at $39.85-million. This 2018 overall value is 4.35-percent higher than the final 2017 market value of $10.11-billion. 

Residential properties on average increased in value from 2017 to 2018 as follows:

  • Single Family Homes (13,024 parcels): Average Change +3.67 percent
  • Townhouses (2,884 parcels): Average Change +6.21 percent
  • Condominiums (3,149 parcels): Average Change is +7.52 percent

Apartment values on average increased 6.42 percent and existing commercial and industrial values on average increased 2.02 percent from 2017 to 2018.

Outdoor Skating Rinks Closed
The City's outdoor skating rinks are closed for the season. The Staring Lake Park warming house remains open until further notice to accommodate sledders using the Staring Lake Sledding Hill.

Arts in the Park – Request for Qualifications
