
At 2:19 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, Eden Prairie Police were called to a residence in the 18300 block of Cascade Drive regarding an adult female found unresponsive. Arriving officers found the female to be deceased, with one other person present in the home.
In the course of a standard death investigation, Eden Prairie Police found probable cause to arrest 61-year-old Thomas James Houck from Eden Prairie. Houck is currently being held in the Hennepin County Jail for first-degree murder.
Police do not believe this was a random incident. The investigation indicates the victim and the suspect were known to one another. Therefore, there is no danger to the public related to this case.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab is assisting Eden Prairie Police with this investigation. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death and identity of the victim.
