Renewable Energy Challenge Results
As part of Eden Prairie's Energy Action Plan, the City recently challenged residents to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by subscribing to renewable energy programs.
Nearly 50 Eden Prairie residents stepped up to participate in the Renewable Energy Challenge during the month of October, including 30 new renewable energy subscribers. As a result, more than 800 Eden Prairie households are now Xcel Energy's Windsource and Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative's GreenSource renewable energy program subscribers.
The randomly drawn winner of the Renewable Energy Challenge is Eden Prairie resident Conner Conk, who will receive a Home Energy Squad® enhanced visit valued at $600. Congratulations!

Eden Prairie Outdoor Center
The Outdoor Center hosts a wide range of classes, workshops, trips and activities related to outdoor recreation and the environment. The City recently received a letter of gratitude from a resident and regular Outdoor Center attendee.
"I just wanted to THANK YOU for the Staring Lake Outdoor Center! What a gem and blessing to have this place, its programs, and its personnel in our city. My daughter has been enrolled in the outdoor preschool program and had a birthday party there; both kids have participated in many (many!) of the camps offered. The entire family has enjoyed not-so-scary trails, walking when the moon is full, and other Outdoor Center events. And the animals — love them. Your friendly, knowledgeable staff has taught us so much — about prairies and owls and fishing and canoeing and animals and archery, etc, etc, etc. We always feel welcomed, we know our kids are safe, and we have learned so much about the wonderful world we live in. We are grateful and the Staring Lake Outdoor Center has been a big part of our kids' childhoods. How lucky we have been!"
