Housing Task Force
The City is seeking candidates for a Housing Task Force to address lifecycle housing, inclusive and affordable housing, and other housing options in Eden Prairie. The Housing Task Force will focus on three phases of work:
- Gathering data (such as current housing stock, open space, census data, current City programs and resources)
- Researching other cities' housing programs, procedures, resources and best practices
- Formulating a list of options and best practices to present to the City Council
Members will be expected to attend one weekday evening meeting per month for nine months, beginning in June 2019.The application deadline is Tuesday, April 30. Apply at edenprairie.org/TaskForceApp.
Light Pole Banner Design Contest
Residents of all ages can submit banner designs by Friday, May 17 that evoke the spirit of our community. Voting will take place at the end of May and winning designs will be displayed on light poles throughout Eden Prairie beginning this summer. Find details at edenprairie.org/BannerContest.
Call for Public Art
As part of a continued commitment to highlight original works of art throughout the community, the City is looking for projects created by Minnesota artists for public display from June 2019 through May 2020. The deadline to enter is Friday, May 3. Learn more edenprairie.org/PublicArt.
Riverview Road Closed
Due to rising water from the Minnesota River, Riverview Road is once again closed between Hennepin Town Road and Parker Drive. The road will reopen when water subsides and the pavement has been inspected for damage.
Round Lake Stadium Event
The Eden Prairie Baseball Association is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the grand opening of Round Lake Stadium. On Saturday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m., prior to the Eden Prairie High School varsity baseball game at 4 p.m, the association is recognizing those who helped make the Round Lake Stadium possible. A raffle will be held for the chance for up to nine youth to join the players in their positions for the playing of the National Anthem. Commemorative mini-bats will also be available to youth ages 4–12.
Accessible Community Gardens at Pioneer Park
Six new raised garden beds have been created for easy access with a wheelchair or seated gardening at Pioneer Park. Contact Parks and Recreation at 952-949-8441 to rent a plot from May through October.
