2019 Heritage Preservation Award Presented
The 2019 Heritage Preservation Award was presented to Kathie Case at the June 18 City Council meeting for her personal efforts to preserve Eden Prairie's heritage.
Case is president of the Eden Prairie Historical Society and has led restoration and programming efforts at the historic Cummins-Phipps-Grill House, which is now home to the Historical Society. She played a significant role in saving the historic gym in the former Eden Prairie Consolidated School that currently houses the school district's Administrative Services Center, and has researched hundreds of historical photos that are now displayed in the City Center atrium and in numerous interpretive panels throughout the community. Case also donates her time to the Eden Prairie history museum located in the lower level of the City Center.
The goal of the Heritage Preservation Award is to recognize an individual, family or business who has made an outstanding contribution to the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and use of Eden Prairie's heritage resources.
Nominations for Heritage Preservation Awards can be made by persons on behalf of themselves or others. One award is given each year. For the next award process, nomination materials will be available in early 2019.
