Southwest LRT Project Updates
Pre-construction work on the Southwest LRT Green Line Extension began in May in Eden Prairie, and has intensified over the last several weeks. The majority of construction is scheduled from 2019 through 2022, with passenger service starting in 2023. The line will include 15 new stations, including four in Eden Prairie.
The SouthWest Transit passenger drop-off lanes were moved to the west end of the parking ramp, pedestrian traffic is being detoured from the north side of Technology Drive to the south side, and traffic control is set up on I-494 near Flying Cloud Drive for work related to a new LRT bridge.
These are a just a few details from the most recent SWLRT construction update. If you want to stay informed about how this ongoing construction project may affect your daily routine, sign up for weekly project updates from the Metropolitan Council or follow the project on Twitter @SouthwestLRT.
