Post Date:September 03, 2019

Officer Carlston & Jax First Day of SchoolAlong with kids across Eden Prairie, Officer Brandon Carlston is also going back to school today with his K-9 partner, Jax! Jax is a 17-month-old German shepherd from Slovakia who joined Officer Carlston and his family this summer.

Today, Officer Carlston and Jax began attending a 12-week K-9 school, where Jax learns basic patrol-dog skills and narcotics detector skills. After they complete their training, Officer Carlston and Jax will join the EPPD’s other K-9 team, Officer Nate Eichman and Gus.

Jax was purchased with generous donations to the Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund from the Eden Prairie Lions, Comcast and the family of the late Dr. John Wright, a veterinarian who was instrumental in starting the EPPD’s K-9 program in 1981.
