Dec. 20, 2019 Friday Report
As part of the Sustainable Eden Prairie initiative, the City recently installed rooftop solar arrays at the City Center, Maintenance Facility and Water Treatment Plant. The power generated at these facilities, supplemented by off-site solar energy subscriptions, will soon allow Eden Prairie's municipal energy usage to be 100% solar-powered — reducing the City's overall carbon footprint and lowering utility costs.
Group Fitness Day of Giving Recap
On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Community Center hosted its 3rd annual “Day of Giving” event. Three different fitness classes were offered and team-taught by group fitness instructors. Participants could attend either Body Pump, Zumba or POUND, and were encouraged to bring a donation item for Toys for Tots or PROP. The event was very successful, with a large amount of toys picked up by the Police Department for Toys for Tots, and many items donated to PROP.
