A Message from Police Chief Greg Weber
Members of the Eden Prairie Community,
I write to you at a time when we are all experiencing disbelief, anger and frustration over the senseless death of George Floyd. What occurred on May 25 in Minneapolis, and what has occurred in the days and weeks since, has deeply affected many of us in Eden Prairie.
I know this because I have had conversations with many of you at peaceful gatherings and community discussions, and I have never been more proud to be part of this community – thank you for caring so much for one another.
Here is what I want you to know:
The Eden Prairie Police Department is committed to transparency – Our Department Policy Manual is available on our website.
The Eden Prairie Police Department is committed to building trust and community – Information about how our Department meets the priorities outlined by the “President’s Task force on 21st Century Policing” is available on our website.
My hope is for each of you to know and trust that your Eden Prairie Police Department is here to protect and serve everyone in our community with equality and respect.
The next time you see an Eden Prairie police officer, I encourage you to have a conversation with them – let’s get to know each other better, and build even stronger relationships in our community.
Police Chief, City of Eden Prairie
