2013 Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year

Each year, more than 200 men and women put their lives on the line to protect and serve the Eden Prairie community with duty, honor and courage. And each year, two of these brave public servants demonstrate the commitment, dedication and leadership it takes to be nominated by their peers and chosen to receive the honor of Eden Prairie Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year.


In November 2013, the Eden Prairie Police Department named Officer Travis Brown as the 2013 Police Officer of the Year.

In his three years of service with the Eden Prairie Police Department, Brown has demonstrated commitment to the community and the Department through his service as a patrol officer and use-of-force instructor.

"Travis Brown has enhanced our Department with the positive attitude and excellent work ethic he demonstrates on a daily basis. The dedication and intelligence Travis exhibits in his enforcement efforts, along with his leadership skills and patience, make him an outstanding officer."

In his seven years of service with the Eden Prairie Fire Department, Casper has consistently demonstrated dedication to the community and the Department through his leadership as a Lieutenant and in his role as president of the Fire Relief Association.

"Our Department is fortunate to have a firefighter like Lt. Aaron Casper. His dedication to the Department and service with the Relief Association, along with his positive attitude and personable demeanor, make Aaron a charismatic leader and an invaluable asset to the Department."
