Emergency Repair Program for Seniors
Home improvement grants are available for Eden Prairie homeowners 60 years or older who need emergency home repairs. Residents may be eligible for loans of up to $5,000 that are forgiven after three years. To qualify for this grant, applicants must own and live in their Eden Prairie home, meet household income limits and have an eligible emergency repair. Eligible repairs include water heaters, furnaces and central air conditioners, and accessibility upgrades such as grab bars and handrails. Home and Outside Maintenance for Elderly
H.O.M.E. is a service offered to those who need help with yard work, painting or household chores. Call H.O.M.E. at 952-888-5530 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
Home Line provides free legal, organizing, education and advocacy services so that tenants throughout Minnesota can solve their own rental housing problems. The program works to improve public and private policies relating to rental housing by involving affected tenants in the process.

PROP is a volunteer-driven agency serving residents of Eden Prairie and Chanhassen. PROP operates a food shelf, provides emergency financial assistance, and offers short-term case management, as well as resources and support to regain self-sufficiency.

Senior Community Services (SCS) provides seniors and their families with counseling and outreach services. Staff member meet with families in their homes to discuss personal family issues and to help seniors remain independent.

Maintaining independence as you grow older can be challenging. The Metro Area Agency on Aging (MAAA) delivers Senior LinkAge Line services in partnership with the Minnesota Board on Aging, connecting you with transportation, chore help, meals, housing options, legal services and more. Senior Outreach provides in-home counseling and case management to frail elderly and their families so seniors can stay independent. Call 952-934-3370 for more information, or to receive any of these services:
- Assists seniors to identify and connect with the right combination of services to fit their individual needs.
- Helps older adults access the appropriate and most cost-effective services available.
- Eldercare Partners program serves family members with concerns about an older adult.
- Provides support groups for seniors, including education and support groups for caregivers.
- Provides health insurance counseling and assistance with insurance paperwork to Medicare beneficiaries.
Senior Outreach and Caregiver Services
Are you a caregiver for a loved one? Let Senior Community Services help! A program of Senior Community Services, Senior Outreach and Caregiver Services provides support to friends, spouses and other family members who help an older adult remain at home. Its staff connects caregivers with needed services and resources for their loved one, and directly supports them as well. Licensed social workers provide caregivers with consultation, caregiver support groups, family meeting facilitation and coaching. To support computer-savvy caregivers, the program also offers an online care team tool, CareNextion, to enlist family and friends in sharing the care.
