The Engineering Division is responsible for all City infrastructure construction projects. Current projects are listed below.
County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive
This project includes the reconstruction of County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive from Highway 101 in Chanhassen to Charlson Road in Eden Prairie.

Duck Lake Road Improvements
The project includes reconstructing the roadway from Duck Lake Trail to approximately Mallard Court, including adding concrete curbs and gutters. Additional improvements include adding a bituminous trail and concrete sidewalk along separate portions of the roadway.

Eden Prairie Road Improvements
The City of Eden Prairie is reconstructing Eden Prairie Road from approximately 500 feet south of Frederick Place to Flying Cloud Drive along a new alignment.

I-494: Airport to Highway 169
MnDOT staff and its partners are working to provide environmental documentation and preliminary and final engineering reconstruction of the I-494 corridor that travels through the cities of Bloomington, Richfield, Eden Prairie and Edina.

The proposed project includes improvements at the intersection of Prairie Center Drive and Preserve Boulevard, the addition of a second southbound lane on Preserve Boulevard, and improvements at Anderson Lakes Parkway and to the Eden Lake storm water outlet.

Singletree Lane Streetscape
The first phase of the Singletree Lane streetscape improvements was constructed in 2010 from Eden Road to Flying Cloud Drive. Design of the improvements on Singletree Lane between Prairie Center Drive and Eden Road will work within the context of the current Singletree Lane conditions, the previous streetscape improvements and design framework, and lessons learned from previous projects.

Southwest Light Rail Transit
The Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT), or Green Line Extension, is a high-frequency train that will connect downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie through St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka.

West 70th Street
With the completion of the first phase of this project in 2015, the second phase includes reconstruction of the eastern segment of the roadway. The construction will be coordinated with Southwest LRT construction to extend the multi-modal improvements on West 70th Street from the proposed Golden Triangle LRT Station east to Shady Oak Road.
