Book Clubs

Caregiver Support Group

Monthly on third Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Take care of yourself so you can take care of others. This group provides a place to share experiences, struggles, humor and
coping strategies. Learn from others while receiving education and empowerment opportunities. The Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging supports this program.

Coffee with the Cops

Have coffee with Eden Prairie police officers and bring your police-related questions and concerns for discussion. This is a great opportunity to learn more about your police department or police topics in general.

Computer Cracker Barrel

Monthly on first Thursday of each month from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Knowledgeable employees from C.H. Robinson offer their time to help seniors learn basic internet navigation, email use and computer fundamentals. Bring your mobile device, iPad, cell phones or tablets to this open Q&A session. No registration necessary; just show up and learn!

Defensive Driver Safety Course

If you have taken a state-approved 8-hour driver safety course, you can renew through this 4-hour refresher course. Please bring your driver’s license and a pen. Advanced registration required. For an AARP discount, participants must bring their AARP card to class. Please select your price at the time of registration and bring proof of membership to class, if applicable.

This program is designed to refine existing skills and develop safe, defensive driving techniques. If you are 55 years or older, completion of this course qualifies you for a 10% discount on your automobile insurance premium. Bring your driver’s license, a pen and your AARP card for an AARP discount. Please select your price at the time of registration and bring proof of membership to class, if applicable.

Fireside Chat with the Fire Department

Feel the heat – of the coffee – with Eden Prairie’s firefighters. Hear what happens behind the scenes at the Fire Department and learn how our firefighting team minimizes risk and increases safety in our community.

Health Insurance Help

Monthly on third Thursday of each month from noon to 3 p.m. (by appointment)
Trained volunteers are available to answer questions about Medicare and health insurance forms, as well as counsel individuals in selections of supplemental health insurance. Please call 952-279-8050 to make your one-hour appointment.

Investment Group

Monthly on second Thursday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m.
After introductions and a brief presentation, participants are invited to ask questions and share information during this interactive discussion group. Group facilitator Lee Wenzel, a resident of Eden Prairie since 1974 and president of the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors, leads the group. This is a free event; no need to register.

Lunch Bunch

Monthly on fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m.
Join us for a fun lunch outing with others! Bring a friend or meet new ones. A representative will meet you at the door and escort you to the group. Participants are responsible for their own lunch cost and transportation. Location changes every month.

Men’s Coffee Group (Woodchucks)

Weekly on Fridays 9–11 a.m.
Enjoy coffee and conversation with of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. Swap interesting stories, anecdotes and memories to relate.

Red Hat Society

If you are 50+, love to wear red hats and something purple, then we have the group for you. The Eden Prairie Red Hat Crimson Chapeaux is always welcoming new members and has fun activities on the schedule.

Red Hat Ladies are welcome to enjoy our monthly breakfast club on the second Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Original Pancake House in Eden Prairie. Order and pay on your own. No membership, no dues. Just join in for some Red Hat fun. Wear your red hat attire during all events. All are welcome!

Senior Singles Coffee Klatch

Weekly on Mondays 8:45–10:30 a.m.
Enjoy a cup of coffee at the Senior Center, meet new friends and discuss hot topics.
